7 New Skoda cars to launch in next two years

Skoda Motors recently completed its 10 years the Indian auto market, and to mark this jubilant occasion, Skoda India started a Celebrations Campaign. Skoda's morale is quite high after seeing an excellent growth in the luxury sedan segment plus a tidy growth rate in the Indian auto market. With such high spirits, Skoda has big plans for the Indian car market in coming two years.

Skoda's plans include revamped models of existing cars plus induction of some new faces into the family between the times spanning from the middle of 2011 to the middle of 2013. Skoda has lined up 7 launches for the 2 year period. First to arrive will be Skoda Laura RS in barely a couple of months from now. Skoda Rapid Sedan which is based on the platform of Skoda Fabia will arrive next, sometime by the end of the year.

The beginning of the year will see a toned down version of the Skoda Yeti SUV model. Next in line will be Skoda Fabia Scout, belonging to the newest breed of cars, the Crossover SUVs. The Skoda Fabia Scout set its foot in the first half of the 2012 and will compete against the likes of Tata Safari, Mahindra Scorpio and Mahindra Xylo. The end of the year 2012 will mark the oncoming of the next generation model of the extremely popular Skoda Octavia.

Skoda also plans to launch two new small cars in between these launches. The two new small cars will measure less than 4 meters lengthwise, a strategy devised to gain tax benefits. The cars are expected to be priced furiously in order to compete in the biggest segment of the Indian car market. More details about the cars will come up at the appropriate time. Taking into account the growth seen by Skoda in India in past two years, their future definitely looks shining and promising.
